Wolfgang's Steakhouse, offering the finest meats, finally opens its second store in Marunouchi

Dec 5, 2014

The second Japanese location of New York-based steakhouse Wolfgang's Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener (located on the first basement floor of the Marunouchi MY PLAZA Meiji Seimeikan, 2-1-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will open in Marunouchi, Tokyo, at 5:00 PM on December 8th. It was unveiled to the press on the 4th.

The interior is decorated in a woody, subdued brown color scheme. The dynamic chandelier hanging from the ceiling of the dining hall and the burgundy carpeting on the floor create an elegant atmosphere befitting the prestigious Meiji Seimeikan. The spacious restaurant, covering approximately 730 square meters, seats 170 people, including four private rooms with seating for six, eight, and ten. It is designed to accommodate a variety of occasions, including private parties and business meetings.

The secret to this restaurant's popularity is its sourcing of only the rarest beef certified "Prime Grade" by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and its slow, prolonged drying process to age the lean meat. The beef is thickly sliced and cooked in a 900-degree oven, resulting in a crispy exterior and juicy interior. The signature "Prime Steak" (for two people/15,000 yen) is made with two different cuts of beef: fillet and sirloin. Despite its plump, juicy appearance, the meat is incredibly tender and bursting with juices as you bite into it, with a rich flavor filling your mouth. Other steaks on offer include sirloin (7,500 yen), rib eye (8,900 yen), and fillet (7,500 yen), as well as a variety of side dishes, including lamb chops (7,500 yen), seafood, and mashed potatoes (1,200 yen). Wolfgang Zwiener will be visiting Japan to celebrate the restaurant's opening. "We are very pleased to be able to open our second store so soon after the opening of our first Japanese store in Roppongi in February of this year. The interior of this store is particularly similar to the original New York store, so customers will be able to experience an even more authentic atmosphere," commented the manager. "We started taking reservations on November 8th, and thankfully, they are already fully booked. Wolfgang's is known for its attentive hospitality, not only in steaks but also in other dishes, wine, and service," he added. The store, which will be the 10th in the world, is open daily from 11:30 to 23:30.
