MI Food Style, which operates 16 Queens Isetan supermarkets mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area, will be releasing the "Banana Custard Cream Puff with Crispy Butter Dough" for a limited time only this summer starting June 12th.
In response to customer requests for a new flavor for the "Custard Cream Puff with Crispy Butter Dough," which was released in March 2020, Queens Isetan has developed a new banana custard cream flavor. The "Custard Cream Puff with Crispy Butter Dough" was developed in-house and is a signature dessert of Queens Isetan, becoming so popular that it sold approximately 10,000 units in just 20 days after its release. While cake flour is often used for cream puff dough, we use French bread flour instead of margarine, resulting in a fragrant dough that develops more flavor with each bite. While maintaining the same thick, buttery and wheat-infused dough that's the reason for its popularity, these cream puffs are filled with a generous amount of refreshing banana custard cream that's not too heavy. Our banana-flavored dessert, "Banana Chocolate Cake with Pistachio," was released in March as a seasonal limited-time offer. It's a hit at Queens Isetan, and we believe customers will enjoy it. The main cream is based on custard cream, intentionally lacking in fruit pulp, and instead incorporates banana juice, resulting in a refreshing banana aroma and flavor perfect for summer.
