That means leveraging digital technology and new communication activities with customers to establish a "shopping style that can be enjoyed online regardless of store or distance" and an "environment where shopping can be done safely and securely in physical stores," thereby providing customers with the best possible customer experience.

Isetan Mitsukoshi will revamp its Isetan Mitsukoshi online site and app as a platform for providing the best customer experience, and through these will expand its digital services to make shopping enjoyable in a new era.

Customers can easily use chat from their smartphones to consult with sales staff (stylists) about products online and receive online customer service via video, without having to visit the store. In order to respond to customer needs as quickly as possible, we will begin a trial of online customer service using LINEWORKS and ZOOM, as soon as possible. The online chat service is scheduled to be available from the MITSUKOSHI ISETAN app within fiscal 2020.

Regarding future developments in online chat and online customer service
In order to meet customer needs in this era of new lifestyles, we will be strengthening our online customer service. Based on the theme of "Isetan at Home," we plan to continue offering online customer service in the baby and children's category, including assistance with entrance exam preparations (selecting clothes for interviews, etc.) and gifts (baby gifts, etc.) (*1). We are also considering expanding this to the women's, men's, and living room categories around this summer.
*1: We are currently offering chat customer service via LINE for entrance exam preparations, gift services, etc. Customer service using video calls is planned to be rolled out in the future.

The online chat service will be available via the Isetan Mitsukoshi app during fiscal 2020.
