Jun 5, 2020
Blue Bottle Coffee Japan LLC will open "Blue Bottle Coffee Hiroo Cafe" on June 11, 2020, inside "THE RESTAURANT" (THE RESTAURANT opened on July 20, 2020), located in Hiroo Shopping Arcade. The Hiroo Cafe will pre-release "Blue Bottle Coffee Pale Ale," Blue Bottle Coffee's first collaborative beer with a Japanese brewery.

Blue Bottle Coffee Hiroo Cafe
"Blue Bottle Coffee Hiroo Cafe" will open at the main entrance of "THE RESTAURANT," located at the entrance to Hiroo Shopping Arcade, commonly known as "Hiroo Walking Street," just a short walk from Hiroo Station. "THE RESTAURANT" is located on the first and second floors of "EAT PLAY WORKS," a new facility for up-and-coming business people that combines work culture with food and wellness. It is a food hall that brings together exceptional chefs and features 17 renowned restaurants that have garnered attention both from Japan and abroad, offering first-class flavors in a casual setting.

Ahead of the grand opening of "THE RESTAURANT" on July 20, "Blue Bottle Coffee Hiroo Cafe" will open on June 11th, offering not only the same specialty coffees that are carefully hand-dripped one cup at a time as at previous Blue Bottle Coffee Cafes, but will also be pre-selling "Blue Bottle Coffee Pale Ale," Blue Bottle Coffee's first joint development with a Japanese brewery.

Hiroo Cafe is a place where you can enjoy a variety of occasions throughout the day, such as a leisurely brunch with coffee and a tartine sandwich, a takeout latte while strolling the international Hiroo area, or a pale ale after work. The spatial design was handled by wrk-shp (workshop), a design firm that has designed numerous Blue Bottle Coffee cafes, mainly in the Los Angeles area. Hiroo Cafe, which incorporates the design of a coffee shop and bar, is based on a natural, warm color palette and features natural materials such as birch and oak, soft curves, and pendant lighting. We have prepared a comfortable space where guests can spend their time however they like, depending on the time of day and their needs. :

HIROO CAFE PRE-SALE ITEM Hiroo Cafe Pre-Sale Blue Bottle Coffee Pale Ale

Blue Bottle Coffee Pale Ale
COFFEE PALE ALE Blue Bottle Coffee Pale Ale 750 yen

With the desire to make specialty coffee enjoyable in more situations, Blue Bottle Coffee will be pre-selling "Blue Bottle Coffee Pale Ale" on draft, its first joint development with a Japanese brewery.

Specialty coffee and craft beer are both genres with long histories, but they are said to be genres where innovation is progressing by further enhancing the commitment to ingredients, production methods, aroma and flavor, and making more creative use of the individuality of brewers. Among the many unique microbreweries, Ise Kadoya Beer of Mie Prefecture is one that combines a commitment to beer with the facilities and advanced technology required for in-house analysis, testing, and yeast cultivation. This unique pale ale was born through collaboration with the company. "Blue Bottle Coffee Pale Ale" is a coffee pale ale created by steeping coffee beans from Blue Bottle Coffee's perennially popular blend, "Three Africas," in Ise Kadoya Beer's pale ale, which has won numerous awards at international beer competitions, to bring out its aroma and flavor. After experimenting with various combinations during development, we found that the fruity and bright flavor of "Three Africas" matched perfectly with the clear bitterness and sweetness of the pale ale, resulting in a well-balanced, smooth coffee pale ale. The fresh citrus aroma wafts as you bring it close to your palate. The roasted coffee flavor and sharp bitterness of the beer combine to create a refreshing, easy-to-drink pale ale perfect for summer. :

Blue Bottle Coffee Pale Ale will also be available at Blue Bottle Coffee cafes nationwide from June 18th. (Outside of the Hiroo Cafe, it will be served as bottled beer.)
