Dior Women's Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri created the Spring/Summer 2024 collection inspired by reflecting on the meaning of the "present" in which the past and future exist simultaneously.

Maria Grazia Chiuri continues to explore the relationship between femininity and feminism, believing that in this present time, a time of convergence and open interpretation, fashion has, more than ever, a responsibility to help women realize their own value and express their difference. She is therefore interested in the rebels who have asserted their independence in a male-dominated society and challenged its establishment. These rebels include witches and heirs of the wisdom of the Earth Mother, heralds of botanical lore and respect for the natural time. Maria Grazia Chiuri's creations for this collection showcase medieval styles, architectural silhouettes where jackets embody masculinity. Some fabrics embrace materiality, the memory of time and a deep knowledge of the work of Italian artist Alberto Burri, with tears, scratches and scorches becoming compositional and performative elements of the garments.

The color palette is dominated by gray and chamomile. Dior's signature floral pattern is reinterpreted in a darker tone, resulting in contrasting X-ray floral motifs. The phases of the moon and sun, which mark the seasons, medicinal plants and fantasy animals compose this iconic design, sometimes embroidered.

Knitwear plays a major role in the collection, hugging the curves of the body and enveloping them without restricting them, providing a warm and sexy look. Lightweight metallic sweaters are reminiscent of chain mail.

Elena Bellantoni's monumental and immersive artwork, "NOT HER," perpetuates a spirit of rejection against the stereotypes that confine women to existing frameworks.

The video installation, which took up every wall of the venue, used analog flip-flap displays to combine sexist advertising visuals with the message, “It’s not her, she’s no longer all Using phrases like "that," which serve as a counterpoint to dominant stereotypes, the photographs show women, including herself, transformed by Elena Bellantoni into a pop-inspired world.

In this way, the collection returns to the idea of placing the relationship between the body and clothing in the context of multiple periods of time, rather than a single day or a nostalgic moment.
