A new fragrance, "California Dream," has been added to Louis Vuitton's fragrance collection. It will be on sale from May 28th.
The newly released "California Dream" is a unisex fragrance that embodies the charm of a sunset, a moment that encapsulates the happiness of a summer day. Unisex fragrance "Les Parfums Louis Vuitton Eau de Parfum California Dream" (100ml: 35,000 yen, 200ml: 46,000 yen) The case on the left is the separately sold "Travel Case" (100ml size, 73,000 yen). With an innovative concept of marrying the freshness of bursting citrus with the depth of floral scent, this fragrance proposes an enchanting journey through "Parfums de Cologne."
Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, Louis Vuitton's in-house master perfumer who created the fragrance, has written several messages about this work, and the following is one of them.
The scent of "California Dream" is composed of mandarin, ambrette seed, and benzoin.
After the mandarin fills your heart with joy, the transparent musk of ambrette seed spreads, taking over the nuanced warmth of the mandarin. Then, the elegant benzoin mixed with vanilla envelops your skin like a gentle balm, as mellow as a summer night.
The packaging is a collaboration with artist Alex Israel, who has previously designed the packaging for Louis Vuitton fragrances "Sun Song," "Cactus Garden," and "Afternoon Swim."
For this fragrance, Israel's signature motif, the "Sky Backdrop" of the California sky, has been adapted for this product to add color to the packaging.
