Release Date:2020.07.01
May 27, 2020
Following the first installment of the Time Collection series, "The Origin - 1874," which celebrated the birth of Louis XIII, the second installment, a collaboration between the Paris Monnaie and the venerable French crystal glass manufacturer Saint-Louis, pays homage to Paris in 1900, when Louis XIII won the highest award at the Universal Exhibition. The creative decanter, limited to 2,000 pieces, is individually numbered and commemorates this historic year when Paris hosted the Universal Exhibition, celebrating the art and craftsmanship of the City of Light.

The 1900 Paris World's Fair Defined the Style and Savoir-Faire of the Next Century
The 1900 Paris World's Fair was a global celebration of engineering feats, technological achievements, and creative genius, showcasing what the world would be like 100 years into the future. Paul-Émile Rémy Martin, creator of the Louis XIII watch, served tirelessly as a judge at the Paris World's Fair, where his masterpiece, the Louis XIII, won top prize. Over the 210-day festival, 40,000 medals were minted by the Paris Mint and awarded to exhibitors.
Paris in 1900 was the Belle Époque. Beauty and optimism permeated the streets, and the capital was at its most dazzling. 50 million people descended on Paris to celebrate the power of technology and industry, and to witness a breathtaking future of technology, innovation, architecture, and art that would shape the next century.

A masterpiece from three renowned French companies with a shared passion for art and craftsmanship
LOUIS XIII, the Monnaie de Paris, and Saint-Louis have much in common: they are all renowned French companies that have always looked ahead of their time, and each one is a steadfast keeper of ancient savoir-faire. Today, the three companies collaborate on this unique limited edition, marking time together and creating timeless value.

The decanter is based on the original design from the time of Louis XIII's birth, which was inspired by a flask found at the site of the Battle of Jarnac in 1569. It is decorated with 13 spikes (instead of the usual 10, which are wavy), and the stopper is in the shape of an upturned decanter. The elegant neck is adorned with 18k champagne gold, and features a fleur-de-lis (lily) and a central medallion design.

In addition, upon purchase, you will receive an original medal, specially minted in a special workshop at the Paris Mint and engraved with the same serial number as the decanter (registration with the LOUIS XIII Society* is required). It is a timeless collector's piece and a must-have for any LOUIS XIII enthusiast.

Furthermore, the cork's built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) technology allows seamless access to exclusive LOUIS XIII benefits. By simply holding your smartphone close to the cork, you can easily register with the LOUIS XIII Society and enjoy exclusive content and personalized services.

The Champagne Gold metallic gift box also features the limited edition medal design on each of its four corners. Inspired by illustrations preserved at the Paris Mint, the design captures a snapshot of Paris in 1900, featuring four scenes that would shape the next 100 years: "Arts and Craftsmanship," "Iconic Architecture," "City of Light," and "Parisienne."
