Cire Trudon, France's oldest and longest-established candle manufacturer, will release six types of "Scented Matches" (2,200 yen each) on February 1st, items that enhance the artistic quality of candles.
The six types of "Scented Matches" being released this time are long-stem matches with classic candle scents, packaged in packaging featuring illustrations by illustrator Lawrence Minot. One of them, "Byron," is inspired by the English poet Byron, known for his freedom and straightforward expression. It has a bright and elegant scent with a unique harmony of woody and cognac notes.
"Cirno" is inspired by the Cirno Villa, a social gathering place in the early 20th century, filled with the scent of lavender and Provençal herbs. "Joséphine" was inspired by the passion for flowers of Napoleon's first wife, Josephine, and is a floral scent reminiscent of a quiet dawn, with rose, camellia, and iris creating a tasteful shadow.
The six other fragrances available include "Haussmann," in which rose and jasmine blend with the scent of leather and tabac; "Solilex," inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles; and "Spiritual Sancti," which uses incense and lily of the valley.
