Boucheron will unveil a new Plume de Paon in September 2023. Since the time of founder Frédéric Boucheron, Boucheron has been fascinated by the beauty of nature and has used it as inspiration for its jewelry. Plume de Paon is a contemporary reinterpretation of the peacock feather, an iconic motif in the Maison's history. Since its founding in 1858, nature has been an endless source of inspiration for the Maison, appearing in various collections and creating numerous pieces that express the raw, powerful beauty of nature in great detail.

The Plume de Paon collection has been beloved for its timeless appeal since it first appeared in hair jewelry and brooches at Boucheron in the 1860s. Faithfully recreating the lightness, supple movement, rich curves, volume, and delicacy of a peacock feather presents a true challenge for any jeweler. Even now, more than a century and a half after its creation, Plume de Paon continues to evolve.
In addition to creations set with diamonds in gold, new pieces with a blue motif have been added. The new pieces feature titanium, one-third the weight of gold, for a lightweight design that captures the airiness and beautiful color of real peacock feathers. Misajour, a distinctive high jewelry technique that removes metal from beneath the gemstones, further reduces weight while allowing light to penetrate from both directions, enhancing the brilliance of the diamonds and colored stones. In addition to the natural brilliance of the diamonds, sapphires, tsavorites, and tanzanites, the anodized titanium (a surface oxide coating that protects and colors the titanium) creates a beautiful gradation of bluish-green, perfectly recreating the color of real peacock feathers. Furthermore, a special system connects the feather components, allowing each component to move independently and freely, as if dancing in the air. Each handcrafted detail recreates the supple movement of the feathers. The collection will also include a reinterpretation of the Maison's iconic Question Mark necklace as a choker, as well as elegant pieces in white gold and diamonds.
To coincide with the release of the new collection, the Fall/Winter 2023 campaign, "Spread Your Wings," will launch in September. In this campaign, models wear the lighter, more airy Plume de Paon pieces, expressing the lightness and dynamism of floating in the air.
