Tiffany & Co. has announced the acquisition of an exceptional gemstone: an emerald weighing more than 10 carats.
Sourced directly from Muzo Emeralds, Colombia, renowned as the world's finest source of emeralds, the rare gemstone is named the "Tiffany Muzo Emerald" after its source, the famous Muzo mine, located 60 miles northwest of Bogotá. This vibrantly colored stone embodies Tiffany's relentless pursuit of nature's most beautiful gemstones.

The finest emerald ever mined from Colombia's renowned Muzo mine is now bearing the Tiffany name. This rectangular square cut emerald, weighing over 10 carats, was mined in December 2019 from the historic Puerto Arturo mine. Its exceptional clarity makes it a rare gem, providing excellent transparency and further enhancing its exceptional color. It is fracture-free and virtually inclusion-free, except for very few inclusions discovered under microscopic examination, consistent with Colombian emeralds from the Muzo mine. Furthermore, it displays the beautiful, perfectly saturated green color that has made Muzo emeralds so coveted. Its impressive size, renowned origin, beautiful color, and exceptional crystal quality all combine to make this one-of-a-kind emerald a true miracle of nature and a gemstone worthy of its new name: the Tiffany Muzo Emerald.
