Two models released by Bvlgari in 2019, the Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic and the Octo Finissimo Ceramic, have been selected for two prestigious awards: the iF Design World Design Guide and the Goldene Unruh (Golden Balance) / Uhren Magazin, one of Germany's most prestigious awards. Both honor the fusion of craftsmanship, technology and design.
The jury of the iF Design World Design Guide had the following to say about the Octo Finissimo Automatic:
"The Octo Finissimo Automatic represents the pinnacle of Bvlgari's bold design and technology. Its ceramic case and bracelet set it apart from ordinary ultra-thin watches. Equipped with a 2.23mm thick caliber, it is the world's thinnest automatic watch. Furthermore, the design, which combines the in-house case, bracelet and dial and embodies all of Bvlgari's manufacturing techniques, creates an exceptionally comfortable feel, combined with a smooth feel and an urban, sleek image suitable for everyday use."
The famous iF Design World Design Guide also awarded the Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic with the following comment:
"The Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic, a mechanical chronograph that has set the fifth world record in the history of watchmaking as the thinnest in the world, is the quintessence of Octo: a perfect blend of design and technology in an astonishingly thin body. Neither round nor square, Octo has been a driving force in setting the industry's ultra-thin watch trends since its debut, creating a code of its own."
The fifth world record-breaking Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic was also voted Best Watch of 2019 in the Technical Category by the readers of Germany's Uhren Magazin. The vote recognised the incredible breakthrough, achieving a record-breaking 3.30mm thinness for an automatic watch with GMT function. The integrated movement also demonstrates Bvlgari's mastery of Haute Horlogerie.
