Global fitness brand Reebok has launched a special apparel-focused collection, "Reebok eightyone," for Spring/Summer 2020, with designer Kohei Okita of fashion brand VAINL ARCHIVE. Following the February announcement, the INSTAPUMP FURY and other summer apparel items will be released sequentially from May 8, 2020.

This collection will feature a number of noteworthy items, including the INSTAPUMP FURY, Reebok's signature model, making its debut in the collection, as well as items inspired by soccer shirts from Reebok's days as a competitive sportswear manufacturer. Also, keep an eye out for items perfect for the upcoming warmer season, such as shorts made from the same material as the jacket released in February that can be used as a set, and short-sleeved T-shirts in vibrant colors.

■Meticulously Selected Items from "Reebok eightyone"

The designs of this collection, which has been attracting attention since its announcement in February, are based on the idea that "among the many Reebok products, both past and present, 'Reebok eightyone' has been chosen as the most "My main goal with 'eightyone' was to create a sense of 'discomfort,'" says Okita, and the collection follows the "discomfort hidden in the combination of fabric, color, and silhouette" that is the foundation of VAINL ARCHIVE's manufacturing. Using gray and black as the base color to create an urban atmosphere, and using different materials within a single item to create a three-dimensional effect, the collection is simple yet highly unique.
"Reebok eightyone" is a collection that beautifully combines sports and fashion through Okita's hand, and represents a new style of sports mix that Reebok is proposing together with him. The visuals for this memorable first collection were photographed by Jiro Konami, a New York-based photographer who has garnered attention both domestically and internationally.

■The concept of "Reebok eightyone"
In "Tokyo (Japan)," a city that consistently attracts global attention for its fashion and the culture surrounding it, this collection project was launched based on the concept of "spreading a bird's-eye view of "Tokyo (Japan)" to the world." The name of this collection comes from "+81," the dialing code for "Tokyo (Japan)," as international calls from Japan to the world and from the world to Japan are expected to increase dramatically. Together with Okita, Reebok will promote "Reebok eightyone," a new sports mix style that combines sports and fashion, to the world.
