New teddy bear joins Ashida Tae's "Mina Tan Charm" to support Tohoku reconstruction efforts

Feb 11, 2015

To support the Tohoku reconstruction effort, designer Tae Ashida collaborated with a sewing technician in Minami Sanriku to create the "MINA-TAN CHARM" line. The new "Message Bear" is perfect for Valentine's Day and White Day. The Message Bear is a teddy bear-type design. Two types are available: an elegant boy with embroidered denim and a girl with a head accessory and necklace accents. Each bear has a heart-shaped pocket that holds a message card. Priced at ¥16,000, it's available at Boutique Ashida Daikanyama, Boutique Ashida Ginza, Boutique Ashida Midosuji, and the Tae Ashida corner of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi. A pop-up shop will be open on the third floor of Tokyu Department Store Shibuya from March 12th to 18th. Rather than being handmade in the disaster-stricken areas, Mina-Tan Charms strives to offer "high-quality products" from the disaster-stricken areas, using Italian textiles and accessories. Sales, minus sales expenses, will be donated to the people involved in the production.
