Dandelion Chocolate's popular "Hot Chocolate Mix" is now available in a new version, "Hojicha Hot Chocolate Mix," blended with hojicha tea. Available from April 8th.

Dandelion Chocolate "Hojicha Hot Chocolate Mix" (2,000 yen) The aroma of the tea leaves, extracted by the frictional heat unique to the stone mill, and its rounded texture are blended into the flavor of the chocolate.

The base chocolate is made from cocoa beans from the Dominican Republic, which have a bittersweet taste like coffee and a moderate acidity similar to cherries. After searching for a tea that would rival the flavor of this chocolate, they found hojicha tea from "YUGEN," a Japanese tea specialty store in Kawaramachi, Kyoto.

Hojicha is made from the first tea leaves harvested in spring, lightly roasted, and the roasting temperature and time are adjusted to not only bring out a fragrant flavor, but also to fully enjoy the tea's natural umami and sweetness. The tea leaves are then slowly and carefully ground in a stone mill, just like matcha, to create a fine powder that retains the umami components.

This is an unprecedented chocolate mix that allows you to enjoy the exquisite balance of chocolate and hojicha, bringing out the deliciousness of both.
