Acne Studios will release items inspired by the work of Swedish artist August Strindberg in its Spring/Summer 2020 women's collection.

August Strindberg (1849-1912) was a pioneering writer and one of Sweden's most iconic artists. Although he worked as a playwright and novelist, he would turn to painting when he felt stuck in his writing career.
This time, the brand has incorporated landscapes painted by Strindberg into items, introducing art print items as another aspect of the Spring/Summer collection.

The prints used in this collection are "Wonderland," "The Night of Jealousy," "The Solitary Toadstool," and "The Town." Each is a landscape that beautifully depicts a longing for one's homeland.
The series includes oversized blazers and long-sleeved shirts, boxy short-sleeved shirts, ankle-length long skirts, relaxed pants, and halter-neck linen dresses hand-embroidered with crystals, as well as accessories such as long cotton-silk scarves.

In addition to the items, the brand is also particular about how the looks are presented, and one notable new approach is to photograph models wearing looks printed with August Strindberg's works, appearing to be immersed in his world.

In the images, taken by photographer Johnny Dufort, both the models and the garments seem to blend into the "2D world" depicted by August Strindberg.
At the same time, to further explore modern ways of living in harmony with nature, the magazine also features models wearing looks against familiar backdrops of real, everyday scenery, creating a fresh way of presenting these contrasting images.

This spring and summer is the time to incorporate a dramatic mood into your wardrobe. Add a touch of new color to your wardrobe with the Acne Studios collection.
This collection is available at select retailers and online at acnestudios.com.
