FENDI, the luxury brand renowned in Rome, Italy, will release the "FENDI by Marc Jacobs" capsule collection, which was unveiled in New York last September to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic "Baguette" bag.

The collection explores FENDI's iconic bags and silhouettes, such as the "Baguette" and "Peekaboo," embodying a spirit of friendship and fun, demonstrating the importance of honesty over strategy. Marc Jacobs is a longtime friend and mentor of Kim Jones. This capsule collection pays homage to that friendship and pop product, particularly the iconic Baguette, and to Fendi, the brand that created it.

It's rare for a fashion item to transcend its sphere and exist in broader culture, but the Baguette has done just that. The Fendi by Marc Jacobs capsule collection celebrates the beloved Baguette, 25 years after its creation, and New York, the city that has cemented its place in pop culture throughout its history.

In this collection, the Baguette is inspired by itself, blending a moment in time and the spirit and geography of a place, crafted in a variety of ways as clothing and accessories, each piece reflecting as much the creator as this iconic piece, without neglecting the joy and celebration of its wearer.

In this capsule collection, which represents the rough-and-tumble romance between uptown and downtown, luxury and practicality, excess and reality, the Baguette and the clothes and accessories inspired by it capture a moment in history while also being part of a legacy that continues to this day.

Marc Jacobs contrasted past extravagance with present-day austerity, and in so doing, he dispelled notions of dress in his collection. Reflecting the glittering yet rigid New York cityscape, casual took on formality with pieces like parachute train skirts, balloon-back broken denim jackets, rustling cellophane opera capes, and fluorescent recycled fur stoles and hats. Sparkles of rhinestones, silver, and fluorescent yellow permeated the entire look, almost literally becoming an example of "local color." Inspired by the glass buildings and safety vests seen on the streets of New York, the baguette is exaggerated, platformed and oversized, echoing the flamboyance of these silhouettes: elongated, gleaming and adorned with mini versions.

In addition, to celebrate this launch, a pop-up event will be held at The Stage on the 1st floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. To commemorate the event, the brand will be selling a limited edition "Mini by the Way," a reinterpretation of the classic Boston bag featuring the eye-catching fluorescent yellow "FENDI ROMA" logo, reminiscent of everyday New York. It reflects the collection's distinctive blend of uptown and downtown, luxury and practicality. It can be worn as a handbag or, with the included detachable strap, as a crossbody bag, making it effortlessly versatile for day or night.
