The "CULTURE CHANEL" exhibition project, which has been held in seven cities around the world and traces the history of the Chanel house and the life of Gabrielle Chanel, has finally arrived in Tokyo. It will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo from March 20, 2021.

The "CULTURE CHANEL" exhibition, which began in Moscow in 2007 and has since been held in seven cities around the world, was curated by Jean-Louis Froment and has featured a different theme for each city, shedding light on how Gabrielle transformed her life into a legend and the endurance of the Chanel brand. This eighth exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo focuses on a previously undiscovered theme: "The Creative World of Gabrielle Chanel." Through seven chapters, the exhibition explores how Gabrielle's unique aesthetic, the foundation of Chanel, was cultivated, and her ideas, which changed the course of women's history, through a variety of artworks, paintings, books, manuscripts, clothing, jewelry, and perfumes.
