Ermenegildo Zegna opens its largest store in Asia in Ginza, featuring limited edition bags for Spring/Summer 2015

Feb 26, 2015

Ermenegildo Zegna will open the Ermenegildo Zegna Ginza Global Store (Zegna Ginza Building, 2-6-16 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) on March 2nd.
The four-floor store, with a total floor area of approximately 1,000 square meters, is Asia's largest. The first floor will house Stefano Pilati's couture line, the second floor will house Z Zegna, the third floor will house casual items, and the fourth floor will house a custom-made salon. The fourth floor will have a balcony overlooking Ginza Boulevard. The store was designed by architect Peter Marino, who also worked on the global store in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, and the interiors of famous brands such as LOUIS VUITTON. On the opening day, the store will be releasing a limited-edition item, the "THE COUTURE BAG" (439,000 yen) from the 2015 Spring/Summer Couture Collection. Available in three colors: light brown made from smooth calfskin, dark gray made from grained calfskin, and dark blue made from macro-grained calfskin. Only three of each color will be available. Based on a doctor's bag, the bag features double stitching on the handles, front panel, opening, and side loops. The bag eliminates side panels and combines two quarter-circular pieces of leather on the front panel, achieving a soft yet highly functional design. The side loops that support the opening of the bag also conceal the transport ring used to attach the shoulder strap, creating a stylish piece. The lining is made of high-quality vicuña-colored herringbone-patterned cotton fabric. The interior pocket for small items and the iconic "XXX" logo on the opening are hand-stitched.
