Ermenegildo Zegna opened its first global store in Osaka on Shinsaibashisuji. A party event was held to commemorate the opening on July 30th.
The store was designed by architect Peter Marino. The tempered glass facade features an "EZ" monogram, alternating with black sliding panels. Onda Marina stone is used for the flooring in the stairwell and elevator lobby on the first floor. Glass featuring the "EZ" monogram pattern is also used on the walls, combined with mirror-finished steel to create a bright space.
Each collection, such as formal or upper casual, is stocked on a separate floor, clearly conveying the brand's vision. The first floor offers a wide variety of textiles, leather accessories, watches, and fragrances, while the second floor features the "Zegna Sport" and "Upper Casual" collections. The space also features a bar counter, creating a relaxing atmosphere for customers to enjoy their shopping. Meanwhile, the third floor will feature Osaka's first "Couture Room," along with the "Sartoria" collection, showcasing traditional Italian tailoring. This space offers made-to-order services and also serves as a dedicated space for the couture collection, overseen by head designer Stefano Pilati. The Couture Room's interior embodies the brand's new concept of fusing its expertise and heritage with the industrial world. It incorporates exclusive ivory-colored materials, including hollowed-out China tree wood and antique bronze. The walls feature alternating ivory plain oak and parchment, while a handwoven wool-and-silk carpet and vintage armchairs create a luxurious atmosphere. Additionally, as part of the "Zegna Art - Art in Global Store" project, works by Italian artist Chiara Camoni will be on display. The wall sculpture, made of a large number of clay fragments secured with wire in different metal colors, resembles a dried bundle of wool.

The party was attended by numerous notable figures and celebrities, including Ermenegildo Zegna President Nick Waddington. Ichikawa Ebizo appeared in a look that highlighted the "Couture Collection," and Fujiwara Norika, elegantly dressed in a collection by AGNONA, for which Pilati serves as creative director, also attended.

Catering was provided by Nakahigashi Toshifumi, executive chef of the Italian restaurant "La Veduta," who was making his first appearance at an event. He was in charge of finger food. Ten dishes were prepared, including octopus ball-shaped dishes. A live Tsugaru shamisen performance by the Yoshida Brothers also livened up the venue.
