Maison Margiela hosts "Artisanal" exhibition

Event Date:2019.11.23-12.11
Nov 20, 2019
Maison Margiela will hold an exhibition of its "Artisanal" Co-ed collection at Maison Margiela Tokyo in Ebisu from November 23rd to December 11th.

"Artisanal" means haute couture at Maison Margiela, and is at the top of the pyramid structure of creation as defined by creative director John Galliano. John Galliano's ideas and techniques are expressed through a pyramidal design process, filtering through all lines, including women's and men's ready-to-wear, in the same way that perfume concentrate, parfum, is diluted into eau de parfum and then eau de toilette.

This "Artisanal" exhibition depicts the creative process of the Maison, in which the concept of "decadence" proposed by John Galliano in the Spring/Summer 2019 "Artisanal" Co-ed Collection was further evolved in the Fall/Winter 2019 "Défilé" Co-ed Collection, and its essence permeates the Spring/Summer 2020 "Avant Première" Collection. The venue, Maison Margiela Tokyo, will feature a museum-like space that combines exhibition and retail space. In addition to exhibiting key runway pieces from the Spring/Summer 2019 "Artisanal" Co-ed collection, it will also feature a screening room where the show will be broadcast. In addition, some of the iconic pieces from the Fall/Winter 2019 "Défilé" Co-ed collection to the Spring/Summer 2020 "Avant Premiere" collection, as well as "Glam Slam" bags and "Tabi" shoes, will be available for purchase.
