Ladurée Shibuya Shoto Store Opens in Bunkamura! The Brand's First Roll Cake Available for a Limited Time

Event Date:2019.12.06
Nov 15, 2019
Ladurée will open a new boutique and salon de thé in Bunkamura, Shibuya on December 6th.

Since opening its first salon de thé in Japan in Ginza in 2008, Ladurée has opened boutiques and salons de thé in some of Japan's most iconic areas, befitting a maison with 160 years of history: Nihonbashi, Shinjuku, Yokohama, Aoyama, and Shijo, Kyoto.

The newly opened "Ladurée Shibuya Shoto Store" has been designed with a luxurious and feminine theme to blend in with the quiet and sophisticated atmosphere of the city. The colorful space, lavishly utilizing soft, elegant color tones and textures, evokes Ladurée's gourmet cuisine.

The ceiling, inspired by the plaster rose windows of Haussmannian architecture, is overlaid with the image of the floor of the flagship store on Paris's Rue Royale, which adds a modern twist to the classic design, while the wicker chairs lining the salon incorporate 19th-century French design. A mirror shaped like Ladurée's popular biscuit, "langue de chat," adds just the right amount of depth to the space, and the pattern of the chair fabric adds a touch of local flair to Ladurée's space.

"Roll Cake Rose et Fraise" (2,400 yen)
As part of the opening commemorative collection, Ladurée's first roll cake, "Roll Cake Rose et Fraise" (2,400 yen), will be released exclusively at the Shibuya Shoto store. Rose-flavored strawberry mousse and strawberries are rolled in soft, fluffy rose genoise dough.

Limited Edition Macaron Box "Opera" (6 pieces for 2,650 yen)
Also available for pre-sale is the limited edition macaron box "Opera" (6 pieces for 2,650 yen), which expresses the image of Bunkamura, a place that disseminates art and culture, through the use of famous opera pieces and sheet music. The macaron "Miel" (281 yen), consisting of two honey-filled macaron coqs sandwiched between them and a white chocolate ganache scented with acacia honey and mimosa flowers, will also be available at all Ladurée stores from December 6th.

Why not escape from your daily routine and enjoy a dreamlike moment in a space enveloped in Ladurée's beautiful design, including gently curved arches, round shapes, and architectural lighting?
