Utsuwa Daifuku, a Japanese tableware store with a tranquil atmosphere just off the main street in Aoyama, will be holding a special exhibition titled "50 Selections of Kutani Seigama White Porcelain" - Warm White - from October 16th to November 4th.


Kutani Seigama is beloved by many for its creations that utilize the free-spirited ideas and sensibilities of young potters while based on the traditions of Kutani ware. This exhibition will feature a new series of white porcelain.

The white tableware, which complements a variety of dishes, includes some with subtle variations in shape, adding variety to a dining table that is typically filled with round or square ware. Additionally, vessels with textured surfaces, such as those created using techniques known as "shinogi," add a unique character to the white porcelain, and their appearance changes depending on the light, making them a joy to use.

This exhibition features a collection of 50 white porcelain vessels, including bowls and plates of various sizes and shapes, from round and oval to flower-shaped and octagonal.
