The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will be holding its 10th annual "Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse" for a total of 34 days from November 22nd to December 25th at the Event Square and Red Brick Park.


Saved to have originated in Frankfurt, Germany, Christmas markets are an event where people enjoy shopping in preparation for Christmas during the "Advent" period, a time of year when people wait for the arrival of Christmas. Since the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, where the market is held, has ties to Germany, the "Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse" has been held since 2010 as a Christmas market that gives off an authentic German atmosphere. Last year, the hugely popular "Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse" attracted 850,000 visitors.


This year, a new market based on the concept of "Seafood & Champagne" will be opening in the Red Brick Park on the sea side of the venue, inspired by "Nuremberg, Germany," which is known for its wide variety of markets. The venue is lined with rows of hütte (wooden huts) in white and blue-gray tones, unified with subdued decorations, and the area is decorated with illuminated lights and simple ornaments. Unlike markets that exude a traditional German atmosphere, you can enjoy a romantic atmosphere with views of Yokohama Port and Minato Mirai.

A giant fir Christmas tree, approximately 10 meters tall, will also be on display, gorgeously decorated with Christmas red and champagne gold ornaments. Additionally, a large "YOKOHAMA" object and the illumination roof, which was popular last year, will add a touch of elegance to the venue.

In addition, actress Kyoko Hasegawa will appear at the lighting ceremony and opening ceremony, which will be held on the first day, November 22nd, at 4:00 PM. A countdown will be held, and the iconic giant tree and the illumination roof, which decorates the path to the tree like a tunnel of light, will all light up at once. There will also be a piano performance by Sanae-chan, whose piano performance videos have become a hot topic on social media.


To match the atmosphere of the venue, approximately 20 types of champagne, including those from Moët & Chandon, will be on sale this year. To pair with the champagne, the seafood menu will also feature "Farm-fresh Oysters with Christmas-colored Sauce," featuring shelled oysters delivered directly from the source and served with either pesto or tomato sauce, as well as "Zuppa di Pesce," a seafood soup, and "Garlic Shrimp."

"Nuremberger Plate"
The event plaza will feature a recreation of a traditional German market, featuring the same red and white striped roofs of the huts as in Nuremberg. Based on the concept of "German Meat Dishes & Mulled Wine," visitors can enjoy Nuremberg's famous Nuremberger sausages and other German cuisine, as well as a record 34 varieties of the Christmas market staple, Mulled Wine.


To help you enjoy the run-up to Christmas, the venue will be selling Christmas goods such as wreaths and stollen, a traditional German cake eaten during Advent. Even those who spend Christmas relaxing at home can enjoy preparing for Christmas at the market, just like in the real world. This year, exclusive event-only original mugs (650 yen including tax) will also be on sale.

In addition, there will be the ever-popular Santa Claus Greeting where you can meet Santa, live Christmas music performances, and from November 8th to December 25th, all shops and restaurants in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No. 1 and No. 2 will be holding joint campaigns.
