Finamore, the Naples camiceria, celebrates its 90th anniversary

Feb 12, 2015

Finamore, a brand with a strong following in Japan for its handmade shirts, inheriting the craftsmanship of Neapolitan camicerias, celebrated its 90th anniversary with a party at the Florence Villa Cora Hotel during Pitti Immagine Uomo '87. The venue featured paper art by Milanese contemporary artist Daniele Papuli, known for his installations at Hermès and Missoni stores. The sartorial presentation, showcasing Finamore's history through pleats, celebrated the founding family, who have inherited the brand from the founder's grandmother, Carolina. The 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection, unveiled at Pitti Uomo, featured a lineup of entirely handmade white shirts and cotton cashmere indigo denim shirts, all with commemorative 90th-anniversary tags. Also new for the 2015-2016 autumn/winter collection are checks and stripes in colors such as light blue x powder pink, sky blue x mustard, and emerald x sand monochrome. Crafted from the brand's signature materials, including all-handmade shirts made from 170-count double-thread poplin and handmade shirts made from 120-count twill, the shirts emphasize a sharp silhouette in line with the Classico jacket style, which is transitioning to a line that emphasizes softer comfort, and the collar also uses a thinner core than before.
