Maison Margiela, led by creative director John Galliano, will open a pop-up store at The Stage on the first floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku from August 14th to 20th. 

The pop-up store, titled 'Discover the wardrobe and accessories for gender nonconformists,' will feature a wardrobe and accessories collection for "gender conformists" who are not bound by concepts of gender or identity from the 2019-20 Fall/Winter "Avant Premiere" collection.
The "Tabi" boots were first unveiled at the Spring/Summer 1989 collection presentation. Originally launched as a women's shoe line, the brand's first men's model debuted in the Fall/Winter 2017 men's collection. This pop-up store will offer a lineup of heeled boots, sneakers, and slip-ons, all in a variety of models and materials, sharing a common concept for both men and women.

The iconic "Glam Slam" bag series, known for its cloud-like shape, will feature a new medium-sized men's model that also doubles as a backpack this season. Bum bags will also be available in a variety of colors and materials. Small grained leather goods and the "5AC" bag will also be available in a navy blue colorway exclusive to Isetan Shinjuku.


The pop-up store was designed by Studio Anne Holtrop, led by Dutch architect Anne Holtrop. Inspired by Maison Margiela's concepts of 'the memory of...' and 'd'cortiqu', the collection expresses the brand's unique worldview through decorations using wool felt and other materials, based on the Maison's signature natural white.
