The J12, Chanel's iconic watch, debuted in 2000 as the Maison's first fully mechanical wristwatch. Inspired by the worlds of sailing and racing cars, this all-black watch revolutionized the watch industry with its timeless design and innovative use of ceramic. A white model was introduced in 2003. Pure white, perfectly balanced with Mademoiselle Chanel's beloved black, has since become a key color in the world of watches.
In 2019, the J12, celebrating its 20th anniversary, was reborn without any changes. While maintaining its identity, the J12 has been given new life. While seemingly unchanged at first glance, more than 70% of its components have been updated. Every detail of the design has been revised, including a narrower bezel, a smaller crown, longer bracelet links, and changes to the size of the hour, minute, and second hands, as well as the font of the numerals on the dial, resulting in a more refined and elegant design. Furthermore, the new 38mm J12 features a sapphire crystal caseback, allowing viewers to admire the movement of the COSC-certified Caliber 12.1.

The "J12 Phantom," a new addition to the new "J12," is a full black or full white timepiece completely adorned with the J12's signature colors. The bezel and dial numerals are the same color as the case, and the hour, minute, and second hands are rhodium-plated in their respective colors, creating a one-tone world view. Both the black and white models are available in two sizes: 38mm (655,000 yen) and 33mm (535,000 yen), for a total of four models in the lineup.
