Yves Saint Laurent Beauté's new water-based lip color, Rouge Pur Couture Vernis Water Stain, will be released on July 26th. Pre-sales began on July 12th at Isetan Shinjuku and other select stores, as well as the online store.

Rouge Pur Couture Vernis Water Stain (¥4,300) uses the brand's proprietary, advanced technology, "Thin Shiny Film Formula," to achieve a watery shine reminiscent of the surface of a pool reflecting light. By changing the formula of liquid rouge, which is usually oil-based, to a water-based formula containing up to 40% water, it is possible to incorporate water-soluble ingredients that were previously not possible. The result is a lighter application, a waterier shine, and pure color.
The moment you apply it to your lips, the water in the formula evaporates, forming an ultra-thin film that evenly covers the unevenness of the lip surface, leaving a taut, dewy shine and fresh color that adheres perfectly to your lips. The light, non-sticky texture is so comfortable you'll forget you're wearing it. Yet, the color fits perfectly to your lips, maintaining a freshly applied finish.
