A.P.C., which proposes modern French style, will release A.P.C. LIBERTY INTERACTION #18 on March 8, 2023, as part of its INTERACTION project, inviting friends of the brand to present small-scale collections.
Liberty fabrics have always added poetic and essential colors to A.P.C. collections, enhancing their understated beauty. After this fruitful collaboration spanning 35 years since the founding of A.P.C., it was only natural to create a capsule collection for Interaction #18 comprised entirely of Liberty prints.
Liberty offers surprising, innovative, and fresh new materials: silky rayon twill, technical nylon, military-style cotton ripstop, and sporty polyester jersey. Inspired by the modernity of these fabrics, A.P.C. Studio takes Interaction in a more radical direction, redesigning classic pieces into oversized shapes.
Shirts, shirt dresses, overshirts, elastic shorts, and pants are reinterpreted in oversized styles, highlighting the spectacular prints. The tops and bottoms are paired together to create a luxurious yet wearable "uniform," complete with matching bucket hats.
Another feature of the capsule collection is the use of small floral-print rayon twill on strappy dresses, sophisticated tops and skirts, creating a feminine look, while women's cycling shorts and sports tank tops feature large, multicolored floral motifs for a sporty feel.
And let's not forget the richness of Liberty's fabrics. A.P.C. worked with Liberty to revisit the colors to maximize the richness of the fabrics and reflect the A.P.C. aesthetic. The collection features monochrome dragons, characters overlapping in khaki camouflage, large paisley motifs reworked in navy tone-on-tone, large floral prints, mini flowers, and some fabrics from Liberty's classic children's clothing.
