A.P.C. releases the 22nd installment of their "QUILTS" quilt project, which uses leftover fabric.

A.P.C., which proposes modern French style, will release the 22nd installment of its quilt project, QUILTS, on October 28, 2022, utilizing leftover fabric from each season.

In the 1970s, Jean Touitou's mother, Odette Touitou, created stunning patchworks inspired by Amish craftsmanship. She studied under Sophie Campbell, known as the Queen of American Craft Culture, and was honored in an article in the International Herald Tribune (now the International New York Times) in 1977.

Thirty years later, her son, Jean Touitou, collaborated with Jessica Ogden, a British designer and enthusiast of patchwork art. Their shared interest in patchwork craft led to the creation of a quilt project.

These quilts are made by sewing A.P.C. remnants onto fleece fabric in a variety of patterns, sizes and colors, each extremely rare and available in limited quantities. For nearly ten years, A.P.C. remnants have been entrusted to Jessica Ogden, who has transformed them into cushions and quilts. The statement, "Nothing is wasted, everything can be transformed," perfectly encapsulates the essence of quilting.

The quilt project is part of upcycling. Upcycling gives products a second life. It's a more responsible way of consuming. Products are reinvented for a different purpose than they were originally intended. Materials that have been consumed in various ways are given new life to create new materials.

The 22nd edition, now being released, is about 2020: an extraordinary year. We've never experienced anything like it before. We knew the Earth would keep turning. That's all we knew. This virus could wipe us all out.

It was around this time that Jessica Ogden decided to take photos of what was in front of her from her home in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and record the date and time of each photo. She even recorded the date and time. For reasons she didn't know, she didn't know.

It's like leaving a trace for archaeologists after the world has ended. From these photos came this 22nd quilt, made with surplus A.P.C. fabric. These quilts are abstract works. But, as is often the case in the art world, their origins are very real. In this case, they are the sky, the clouds, and the sea. The 22nd campaign was shot by Alfredo Piola on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, where the light is truly special. Jean Touitou
