Loro Piana presents the new Veil bag with its Spring/Summer 2023 collection. A supple, casual, and essential bag that embodies the Maison's heritage and expertise while evoking journeys to faraway lands.
Veil is inspired by the Loro Piana family's story. In the late 1970s, the Loro Piana family began searching for the finest raw materials nature had to offer to create elegant, timeless garments, eventually discovering the finest cashmere in the rugged highlands of Mongolia and Inner Mongolia. To this day, nomadic herders still transport the cashmere in sacks, passing through the spinning mills of Roccapietra in Piedmont, where it is transformed into unique fabrics and garments.
Named the Veil, the bag's design and texture evoke the sacks of precious fiber discovered by the Loro Piana family. The natural, smooth grain and tumbled calfskin's exquisite supple finish mimic the uniformity of cashmere, while the adjustable shoulder strap wraps around the entire bag, creating a looped motif reminiscent of the cords and belts once used to fasten sacks.
Featuring a seamless body, the Bail comes with hand-sewn handles, a tonal suede lining, and a removable inner pouch. Available in two sizes (Large and Micro) and a wide range of colors, from classic hues like Navy Blue, Kummel, and Warm Tan to seasonal hues like Tea Room, Dark Cerise, and Candria Marble, it's perfect for any style or occasion, allowing you to transport a variety of belongings and memories across time and space.
