On February 18th, Michael Kors held his Fall/Winter 2015-16 women's collection show in New York. Romantic daytime attire transforms into glamorous, vibrant evening wear. This season, the designer presented tailoring for women with such opposing sides. The first half of the show featured warm tones of tawny, barley, vanilla, olive, and chocolate. In contrast to feminine looks like flowing skirt suits and coats, there were capes, coats, and jackets reminiscent of men's oxford and thickly woven fabrics. Gradually, the colors shifted to burgundy, peacock, topaz, and peridot, adding richness to the look. Even while wearing luxurious fur, the look maintained a laid-back feel with pajama-style pieces in all-over prints of damask and paisley motifs.
In the second half, a powerful aura was emitted with crisp black, gray and navy colors. Meanwhile, the silhouettes of trumpet-shaped skirts and I-line long dresses were supple and the materials sleek. The collection told a story through contrasting elements such as day and night, ephemeral yet strong, and supple yet structured.
