The "Arty Capucines Collection," in which six contemporary artists have reinterpreted Louis Vuitton's iconic Capucines bag, will be released on June 28th.
In Japan, it will be available at the Louis Vuitton Matsuya Ginza store, the Louis Vuitton Omotesando store, and the Louis Vuitton Osaka Shinsaibashi store. In addition, a pop-up store will be open at Daikanyama T-SITE GARDEN GALLERY for three days from June 28th to 30th.

Since its launch in 2013, the Capucines bag has quickly become an icon of Louis Vuitton. It is named after the rue des Capucines in Paris, where Louis Vuitton first opened its shop in 1854. The newly announced Arty Capucines Collection is a valuable collection created in collaboration with six leading contemporary artists, with each model limited to 300 pieces worldwide.
In addition to an installation of the six bags from this collection, the new Capucines bag will also be exhibited and sold at T-SITE GARDEN GALLERY in Daikanyama.

"Capucines" by Jonas Wood. © Studio Lenthal Born in Boston, USA in 1977, Jonas Wood creates vibrant, colorful paintings evocative of the worldviews of artists such as Henri Matisse and David Hockney. The "Capucines" bag, designed by Jonas Wood for Louis Vuitton, is based on his "Landscape Pot" painting series. Selected botanical and animal motifs from the paintings are digitally printed onto calf leather, then delicately embroidered over the outlines. While the color palette appears monochrome at first glance, 13 colors are actually used to faithfully recreate the paintings. Like the matte pink LV logo in the center, the interior of the bag is a striking, vibrant pink. A charm shaped like a bespectacled giraffe seemingly leaps out of a painting adds a touch of elegance.

"Capucines," by Alex Israel, who previously designed the packaging for Louis Vuitton's fragrance "Parfums de Cologne," incorporates the spirit of Los Angeles, his home base and signature city. Starting with his signature wave motif, the beautiful gradations are digitally printed onto the leather using intricate dyeing techniques and stitching.
Two blue surfboard fins rise from the bag, resembling sharks swimming in the Pacific Ocean. These Plexiglas fins are removable, one with a metal comb and the other a mirror, making them both functional. Another notable detail is the metal plate on the inside pocket of the bag, featuring Alex Israel's iconic profile.

Tschabalala Self is known for her bold and powerful style, depicting exaggerated female figures. To create "Capucines," she began by dismantling the Louis Vuitton monogram.
The fragments of the monogram were reborn in her atelier as beautiful pieces made from salvaged leather, adding vibrant color to the "Capucines" using a patchwork technique.

"Capucines" by Urs Fischer is truly a work of art in itself. The pure white Taurillon leather Capucines bag is treated as a "blank canvas," and owners can personalize it to their liking with lifelike 3D fruit charms called "Hanging Sculptures." The charms that come with the bag come in six varieties: banana, strawberry, apple, mushroom, egg, and carrot, all of which are individually hand-painted.
