UNIQLO has launched "UTme! Market," a new service that allows users to sell T-shirts designed using the smartphone app "UTme!".
"UTme!", launched by UNIQLO in May of last year, allows anyone to easily create original T-shirts and tote bags. Its core features include "PHOTO," which allows users to paste their favorite illustrations or photos; "TYPOGRAPHY," which allows users to input text; and "PAINT," which allows users to paint with their fingertips. Users can complete their original designs using three effects, including "SPLASH," which splashes ink by shaking the device.
In addition to men's and children's T-shirts, women's T-shirts have been added to the market's lineup. The color palette now includes black and navy in addition to the traditional white.
The new "MoMA" effect allows users to easily create artistic effects. Two patterns are available: "EARLY MODERN," which creates a unique blur for images, and "COLLAGE," which cuts out images and rearranges them. New character stamps, such as "Cool Dog Mochi" and "Coca-Cola," designed by actor and "master artist" Seiichi Tanabe, will also be available. Items created using these apps will be sold online at "UTme! Market." Other users will receive a design fee of ¥300 per item purchased. Popular designs will be ranked. To commemorate the launch of the service, the app will also offer "Yoshimoto Collaboration Models" by comedians including Tomonori Jinnai, and "non-no Collaboration Models" designed by models from the women's magazine "non-no." T-shirts created by 20 creators will also be available for sale upon the market's opening. Additionally, a video based on a song by rapper Chinza DOPENESS will be released to demonstrate how to use "UTme!" and "UTme! Market." For a limited time until May 11th, there is also a campaign where you can get a 200 yen discount on all items purchased through "UTme!".
