Textile designer and artist Yuri Himuro's solo exhibition "TREASURE HUNT" will be held at the Harajuku gallery ROCKET from May 8th to 12th. Yuri Himuro is a textile designer known for her playful works. In her grass-themed textile, animals emerge when you cut the surface with scissors as if mowing the green grass. Her winter scene pieces feature unique gimmicks, such as a pattern that changes from one before to the next, revealing snowfall, depending on the angle you look at them. In collaboration with women's handkerchief brand swimmie, she also released a series of printed handkerchiefs with patterns that peek through. The exhibition, themed "TREASURE HUNT," will feature items crafted with Yuri Himuro's unique and mysterious textiles. New rugs and handkerchiefs will be available to order, while archive items will be available for immediate purchase. Also on display will be a giant rug created specifically for this occasion. Semi-custom fabric panels will also be available, with customizable panel sizes and pattern placements.
The first floor of the gallery will be designed by the creative team mimosa. A bouquet (2,500 yen) that can also be dried will be released in collaboration with Yuri Himuro and mimosa. Pre-orders for the bouquet will be accepted online, up to the first 40 customers.
In addition, on the 9th and 10th, mimosa will operate a "mobile florist" service, providing gift wrapping perfect for Mother's Day. At the opening party on the first day, Yama Foods will provide snacks and drinks tailored to the exhibition.
