Jewelry or Object? Call Moon's "Single Form" Exhibition Now Open in Asakusabashi

Event Date:2019.05.10-05.19
May 15, 2019
Jewelry brand CALLMOON is currently holding the "Single Form" exhibition at CPK GALLERY, a gallery located near Asakusabashi Station in Taito Ward, Tokyo.

CALLMOON's jewelry is characterized by minimalist, organic forms. Inspired by the curves and movement of the body and sculptors such as Barbara Hepworth and Constantin Brancusi, the artistic pieces exude both flexibility and strength.

The exhibition also unveiled CALLMOON's first attempt at creating pieces that combine natural stones with silver jewelry.

The stones were chosen by the designer, who encountered them at sea and in the mountains. Focusing on the forms created by the forces of nature, silver jewelry is intricately fitted to the stones.

The artwork, accompanied by the message "Please feel free to touch and look at it," is quite literally open to touch. The shape, texture, and mass of the stone are perceived through the palm of your hand. Feeling the passage of time and the traces of nature's embrace of its environment, wearing jewelry that captures this spirit, you are invited to reconsider the relationship between nature and humans.

These pieces, born from pursuing and creating forms that align with the wavelengths of nature, are surprisingly in harmony with the human body. The coolness of the stone when placed against the skin, and the gently curving lines and forms, allow you to sense a part of nature. Of course, each piece of jewelry is unique, with molds made for each stone, and the stones and jewelry will also be sold as a set. When not being worn as jewelry, they can be returned to their original state as part of the stone, becoming a visually appealing object.

During the exhibition, works by 10 artists on the theme of materials and fashion will also be on display. The exhibition will run until May 19th.
