Paris-based artist Makiko Tanaka will be holding her solo exhibition, "Avenue Paul Vaillant Couturier," at nidi gallery from May 10th to 23rd.

Makiko Tanaka expresses her work freely using a variety of media, including watercolors, oil paints, pencils, and ceramics. Her diverse style encompasses a wide range of paintings and three-dimensional works that exude elegant humor in a romantic, surreal world.

She has also garnered much support for her illustrations for FASHION HEADLINE's popular "Fortune Telling" content, as well as her charming, pop illustrations and animations, such as the "Fantasy Gastronomy" series in the online version of Shiseido's "Hanatsubaki" magazine, and her collaboration with Pierre Hermé Paris. Titled "Avenue Paul Vaillant Couturier," this exhibition takes its name from the street where she actually lives. It features watercolors of everyday life in the area where she paints every day, as well as familiar objects, food, and animals. It also features three-dimensional works such as "Faïence," a traditional European ceramic known for its smooth porcelain surface.
