The 10-day Golden Week holiday finally begins tomorrow. Since it's a rare day off, you'll want to eat some delicious food! For those of you who feel that way, we'd like to introduce you to some gourmet events taking place during Golden Week. There are plenty of events where you can enjoy alcohol and sweets, including the ever-popular bread event. Why not satisfy your stomach and soul with a gourmet event this Golden Week? 

Bread from all over Japan

◆The "Melon Bread Festival," where melon breads from all over Japan gather, is back for the first time in two years!  (May 4th, 5th)

The "Melon Bread Festival 2019" will be held in the gymnasium on the second floor of 3331 Arts Chiyoda in Kanda, Tokyo, bringing together over 20 varieties of melon bread from all over Japan. This year marks the first time the event has been held in two years, and the theme is "Detour Consumption," with a lineup that includes plain melon bread as well as more unusual varieties such as melon bread bagels, cabbage melon bread, and braised pork melon bread! 




◆The bread festival "Pantastic" is being held in Saitama New City! Popular bakeries from Saitama Prefecture and all over the country are gathering together  (Until May 6th)

"Pantastic!!" is being held at Cocoon City in Saitama New City. "2019 SPRING @ Cocoon City" brings together a huge selection of popular bakeries, baked goods, and groceries. Popular shops from Saitama Prefecture will be participating, as well as popular bakeries from the Kanto region and other areas, making this an event that bread lovers must see.



◆The love for bread and milk never stops! Hankyu Bread Fair and Milk Festival to be held at Hankyu Umeda during Golden Week (until April 30)

The hugely popular "Hankyu Bread Fair" event at Hankyu Umeda Main Store will bring together around 90 stores, including popular shops where lines are inevitable, bread accompaniments, and bakeries that are regulars at the event. There will also be a wide variety of dishes using bread, which is experiencing an unprecedented boom. In addition, the first-ever milk festival "I LOVE MILK" will be held at the same time, so come and enjoy the perfect combination of "bread x milk."

◆A two-day limited-time lounge featuring approximately 40 varieties of craft gin from around the world will be opening at the Aoyama Farmers Market during Golden Week (April 27th and 28th)

The "CRAFT GIN BAR LOUNGE," a lounge where you can experience and see approximately 40 varieties of craft gin, will be opening at the "Aoyama Farmers Market," held in the courtyard of the United Nations University in Aoyama, Tokyo. Discover your favorite craft gin while tasting and comparing different gins and enjoying cocktails.



◆A bar-hopping event where you can enjoy "meat and alcohol" will be held in Shimokitazawa during Golden Week!  (Until May 6th)

"Bar Bar Shimokitazawa Meat and Bar-Hopping: Minna Nomi Buddies," held in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, is a food and drink hopping event where you can find your favorite bars and drinking buddies. This year marks the 8th time the event has been held, and the theme is "meat dishes." Guests can enjoy bar hopping with elaborate limited menus from a variety of restaurants, including not only meat specialty restaurants, but also Turkish cuisine, Chinese izakayas, and sea urchin specialty restaurants.

◆The Ice Cream Expo "Aipaku" is back this year! Over 100 varieties of ice cream will be gathered, including many limited-edition items (Until May 6th)

The Ice Cream Expo "Aipaku® TOKYO," featuring over 100 carefully selected local ice creams from all over Japan, will be held at the Ginza Mitsukoshi department store. The event will be held in the 7th floor event venue and the 9th floor Ginza Terrace. The lineup will include stores making their first appearance at Aipaku and limited-edition items! Take a break on a hot, sunny day with some cool ice cream.




◆Hotel New Otani Makuhari to host "Strawberry Picking & Super Sweets Buffet at the Hotel" exclusively during Golden Week!  (April 27th - May 6th)

Hotel New Otani Makuhari will be holding "Strawberry Picking & Super Sweets Buffet at the Hotel" as a limited-time event during Golden Week. Premium sweets made with carefully selected ingredients, such as the "Super Amaou Shortcake," are now available for the first time at the buffet! Enjoy these delicious treats to your heart's content.
