A quiet revolution, PHOTOCOPIEU's debut collection

Something that comforts, liberates, and truly brings out the beauty in its essence. What added value satisfies the women of the world?

PHOTOCOPIEU is a new brand debuting in the Fall/Winter 2019-20 season.

"I want to create a world where the women I know don't have to put up with anything, but can make their own decisions and focus on what makes them shine the most." This is the inspiration behind designer Misa Takeuchi's vision. Putting on one of her garments instantly awakens a sense of self-affirmation and warms the emotions. After working for a company in Tokyo for four years, Misa Takeuchi moved to France in 2013 to study at the prestigious Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. After graduating, she gained experience as a designer at Isabel Marant and Véronique Leroy before returning to Japan in 2018. The brand Photocopieu is the answer to her 10 years of creating clothes while always considering how women live their lives. The exhilaration you get from wearing Photocopieu clothing isn't just due to superficial visual factors like beautiful forms or a preference for colors and textures. While decorative elements are scrupulously eliminated, the lines created by the three-dimensional cutting through the warmth of the hands are infused with organic forms. Its soft contours conceal a definite strength, embracing both the two sides of a woman's personality, which are constantly fluctuating and difficult to dissolve, completing the ideal appearance. Like the iris flower featured in the brand name, it is dignified, beautiful, and supple.

The key item is a dress inspired by vintage workwear. A proper piece of workwear, it is imbued with the owner's love for their lifestyle and family. With these elements in mind, the piece is made of delicate silk, while also featuring functional pockets, tough stitching, and other details that add a subtle edge to its practicality.

Life in Paris, a foreign land that may appear glamorous at first glance, also contains struggles that only those who have experienced it can understand. "I believe that the conflict between my desire to live independently and my own desire to live is the source of my impulses," says the designer. The part of me that wants to be strong and the part of me that wants to be feminine and supple. She believes that "the ambivalent feelings that constantly fluctuate within a woman, the many emotions that are opaque and difficult to understand, are the source of a woman's elegance." Her collection, spun from her own experiences like an essay, has a clear purpose. Each piece, which captivates with the depth of one's essence, will gradually become a necessary everyday garment that embodies one's individuality.

The first time I put on Photocopy's clothes, I definitely felt that high, like falling in love. I want as many women as possible to experience the feeling of clothes fitting their heart.

Photocopy's quiet revolution will dramatically change the everyday. For all the women of the world, yet to be discovered.
