Yohei Ohno's timeless new dress line

Aug 14, 2019
Yohei Ohno, the designer behind Yohei Ohno, has launched a new dress line.

The new line is based on the concept of redesigning archive dresses from the main collection for special occasions.

Since the launch of Yohei Ohno in Fall/Winter 2015-16, the brand has released new seasonal designs twice a year, and has found that "among these designs there is the potential for more people to wear them regardless of the season." The impetus for the launch was the desire to "create a separate timeline within the brand where the same ideas can mature over time."

The aim is to make a design more universal and timeless. In other words, this project involves developing previously released designs by Yohei Ohno, with a focus on practicality for special occasions. There is no new name; the only difference is the "YOHEI OHNO" name tag, which is different from the main collection.

This time, eight dresses (plus one innerwear) were released. Available in black only for the first run. Prices range from ¥30,000 to ¥60,000. Stores that will carry the dress line along with the main collection include ReStyle, H BEAUTY&YOUTH, and LOVELESS on the 3rd floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. Stores that only carry the dress line include BARNEYS NEW YORK, DRESS UP CLOSET on the 3rd floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C., and SIXIÈME GINZA on the 2nd floor of GINZA SIX, with the line scheduled to go on sale in late November.
