MM6 Maison Margiela will be holding a pop-up and window installation recreating the presentation of its Spring/Summer 2019 collection held in London, starting at Isetan Shinjuku on April 3rd and then across the country.


In 1994, Maison Margiela released the "AIDS T-shirt" to support AIDES, a French organization established to eradicate the HIV virus and AIDS and to support patients. Inspired by this iconic "AIDS T-shirt," MM6 Maison Margiela's Spring/Summer 2019 collection features the same message, "THERE IS MORE ACTION TO BE DONE TO FIGHT AIDS THAN TO WEAR THIS T-SHIRT BUT IT'S A GOOD START," boldly printed on various parts and details, including the exterior and interior of the garment, layers, and ribbons sewn into the garment. Pop-up stores opening nationwide from April 3rd will feature a lineup of modernized pieces from the Spring/Summer 2019 collection, including T-shirts, sweatshirt hoodies, jersey dresses, pleated dresses, and flared heel boots. Additionally, a small "Japanese" bag featuring the same message as the "AIDS T-shirt" will be available exclusively in Japan.

In addition, special gifts reflecting the message text of the "AIDS T-shirt" will be available to those who purchase designated items during the event.

Following Isetan Shinjuku, pop-ups will be set up at Hankyu Umeda Main Store, JR Nagoya Takashimaya, MM6 Maison Margiela GINZA SIX, MM6 Maison Margiela Omotesando, MM6 Maison Margiela Kanazawa, TOMORROWLAND in Kyoto, and Edition in Shinjuku and Osaka.
