For its debut season, Spring/Summer 2019, the brand will launch the "molleton" series, inspired by the wardrobe Lucien wore as a young man, passionate about surfing. Moreton is a French word that originally refers to brushed materials such as cotton fleece and felt. In keeping with the brand's identity as the "King of Cashmere," the first collection is made up mainly of cotton sweatshirt material, which inherits its soft feel and comfort.

The items to be released in mid-February include pullover sweatshirts, hoodies, zip-up hoodies, and sweatpants. The lineup features "youthful" items, such as designs dotted with Lucien's signature motifs such as skulls and leaves in embroidery and prints, and preppy-style pieces with logo appliqués.

Prices start from 46,000 yen for the pullover, 54,000 yen for the pullover hoodie, 60,000 yen for the zip-up hoodie, and 46,000 yen for the pants. All are unisex. They will be available for pre-sale at Isetan Men's, Hankyu Men's Tokyo, and GINZA SIX stores, as well as the brand's online shop.

Lucien Pellat-Finet made his debut on the fashion scene as a model for Pierre Cardin's junior line. After working as an editor for the Paris edition of Vogue Hommes and styling for Chanel, he opened his own eponymous boutique in Paris in 1986. The store temporarily closed in 1990, but in 1994 he officially launched his brand as "lucien pellat-finet" with a 10-piece collection of 100% cashmere knitwear, gaining popularity among fashion celebrities. Prior to Marc Jacobs' collaboration with Louis Vuitton, he collaborated with Takashi Murakami on a cashmere sweater. He has earned acclaim in Europe and the United States as a designer who was one of the earliest to incorporate street culture and art into the luxury scene. In recent years, he has collaborated with Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and photographer Larry Clark, among others. He is also known for having his boutiques designed by leading Japanese designers and architects, including Masamichi Katayama, Kengo Kuma, and Yasumichi Morita.
