Brazilian sandal brand Ipanema will open its first Japanese store, "Ipanema Tokyo," in Shibuya, Tokyo (6-23-6 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) for a limited time from May 16th to the end of August.
Ipanema is a sandal brand created by Grendene, the Brazilian footwear manufacturer behind brands like Melissa. The brand's name comes from Ipanema Beach, a beach in Rio de Janeiro that is said to be Brazil's most beautiful.
The brand's distinctive feature is the PVC material used not only for the soles but also for the decorations. From classic thong beach sandals to those decorated with jewels and metal beads, the brand offers items that reflect the latest trends using high-precision printing and decorative techniques.
The newly opened store will have two floors and a total floor area of 60 square meters. The interior of the store was designed to combine the atmosphere of the flagship store, "Casa Ipanema" on Ipanema Beach, with the brand's modern image.
The first floor carries the brand's entire collection, including "FIT SUMMER PM81564" (2,300 yen) and "ATHENA PM81518" (3,000 yen). The second floor offers a full lineup of items from Glendene's brands, including "mel," the diffusion line of "mel," as well as "grendha" and "ZAXY."
