On May 1st, Brazilian shoe brand Melissa will open its first-ever Japan-only store in Harajuku, Tokyo (4-31-11 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo). Founded in 1979, Melissa offers innovative and original shoes made from plastic. Having collaborated with creators such as Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier, the brand is beloved not only in Brazil but around the world. To commemorate the opening, three limited-edition shoes created in collaboration with renowned designers will be released. From the brand's third capsule collection with Karl Lagerfeld, the lineup includes the elegant "Melissa + Karl Lagerfeld" flats (15,240 yen) featuring a mesh design and pearl accents.

Also, "Melissa + JASON WU" (14,380 yen), a collaboration with Jason Wu, is a pair of adorable plastic flats with classic, large ribbon details.

Furthermore, British designer J.Maskrey, known for his beautiful designs using Swarovski crystals, has designed "Melissa + J.Maskrey" (41,500 yen), shoes for brides to wear comfortably on their wedding day. These beautiful and easy-to-wear shoes are based on Melissa's "Ultragirl" and are studded with Swarovski crystals that sparkle like fireworks.
