Spotify, a music streaming service used by 191 million users worldwide, has released a ranking looking back on the music scene in 2018.

The most streamed artist in Japan is BTS. Their repackaged album "Love Yourself 結 'Answer'," the final chapter of the "LOVE YOURSELF" series, released in August 2018, also ranked first in the most streamed albums ranking in Japan. TWICE also ranked third in the most streamed artists in Japan, indicating that K-pop's popularity in Japan is continuing to grow.

Following BTS in second place is ONE OK ROCK, who became the first Japanese artist to surpass 100 million cumulative streams on Spotify last year. Continuing their momentum, they also topped the Japanese artist category for the second year in a row with the most streamed songs overseas. Additionally, "Change," released digitally in February 2018, also ranked third in the most streamed songs rankings in Japan.



Also, the most streamed song in Japan is DAOKO x Kenshi Yonezu's "Uchiage Hanabi," which, despite being released in 2017, has remained a long-running hit since last year.

Also, the most streamed playlist in Japan was "Heisei Pop History," which looks back on the 30 years of the Heisei era with hit songs, fitting for this final year of the Heisei era. Additionally, DA PUMP's "U.S.A." topped the Spotify Japan Viral Chart annual rankings, which ranks songs that have become popular on social media.
