From June 3rd to 9th, Isetan Shinjuku's Main Building and Men's Building will host "Brazil Fantastico! Celebrating Brazil, a Colorful Paradise," an event showcasing Brazilian fashion, food, and culture. This year marks the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Brazil, and the event will focus on Brazil's natural beauty. Experience a vibrant world created amidst a landscape interwoven with lush greenery and ocean, and experience a world that engages all five senses. The Stage on the first floor of the Main Building will be selling "Genesis," a photo book by Brazilian photojournalist Sebastião Salgado (¥600,000). With the Japanese release of the documentary film "Sebastião Salgado: A Love Letter to the Earth," which explores Salgado's fascinating work, this is a must-see opportunity. This photo book, limited to 2,500 copies worldwide, comes with a book stand designed by architect Tadao Ando. Other items on offer include jewelry incorporating natural Brazilian stones and bio-jewelry woven from the native golden grass "capim dourado," showcasing the diverse charms of Brazil's natural environment. To experience Brazilian fashion, known for its cheerful national character, head to the second floor. Local girls, known for their "Carioca style," are known for layering one-piece dresses or knitwear over their swimsuits. This summer, we'll be showcasing swimsuit and fashion styling, complete with beach sandals and bags, that you'll want to copy. Additionally, on the third floor of the main building (Center Park/The Stage #3), we'll be showcasing one-of-a-kind dresses created by JUM NAKAO, a third-generation Brazilian artist active on the world stage. Each dress was created specifically for this event using "Mayotae," a textile that revives the ancient Japanese hemp cloth. This marks the second time the store has hosted an event highlighting the charms of Brazil, following last year's. This year, there will be a total of nine unique craft beers, including beers made with Brazilian acai and other Brazilian cuisine. You can enjoy the charm of Brazil not only through its fashion and culture, but also through its food.
