--When you hear the themes "SOUL CAMP" and "Hip Hop," what kind of painting do you imagine you'd paint?

"I performed a live painting at the first SOUL CAMP event, held at Toyosu PIT in 2015, and it was a truly valuable experience. Hip hop music often samples jazz and soul music. It's the roots of my art, and I think hip hop includes jazz and soul, so I'd like to explore those aspects in more depth."


--Please tell us about your enthusiasm for performing a "live painting" in the unusual environment of Isetan Shinjuku.

"I think it will be an honor because I think a wide range of people, different from the customers who usually come to my paintings, will be able to see my work. I would like to paint pictures that will have a big impact on these people as well."


--What aspects of your work would you like customers to notice?

"People often tell me that the speed and the process of how my work is created are interesting, so I would like them to pay attention to those things. I would be happy if people could see how the finished form emerges, and also feel the power of the finished painting."
