Tudor opens its fourth boutique in Japan in Katamachi, Kanazawa

Nov 1, 2022
Since its founding in 1926, TUDOR has been loved by professionals around the world for its unwavering quality and pioneering products. On November 25, 2022, TUDOR will open its first street-level store in the Hokuriku region, TUDOR BOUTIQUE KANAZAWA, in Kanazawa, a city where aesthetic sensibilities from traditional crafts to contemporary art are handed down through the generations.

Located at the intersection of Korinbo and Katamachi in the heart of Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, the new store will feature a striking black and red façade facing Hirosaka Street. The industrial interior, making use of the texture of concrete, features ample customer service space where customers can enjoy a thorough encounter with TUDOR watches. The space embodies the brand philosophy of "BornToDare" and the vision of founder Hans Wilsdorf, and will feature a wide range of watch collections unique to a street-level boutique, including boutique-exclusive models.

In addition, to commemorate the opening of the boutique in Kanazawa, where tradition and modernity are united through art, the company is supporting a new project by the private contemporary art museum "KAMU Kanazawa." As a supporter of "KAMU SsRg," the eighth exhibition space to open on November 1st, and the publication "B4," which will begin distribution on the same day, we will further support the growth of Kanazawa's art culture. Located on "Seseragi-dori," along the irrigation canal behind Korinbo, "KAMU SsRg" will feature the Japanese debut of London-born contemporary artist Simon Fujiwara's installation "Once Upon a Who?". Fujiwara's "Who" bear humorously sheds light on persistent issues facing modern society. The newly launched "B4" will also serve as a guide, making the art tour even more enjoyable for museum visitors. The back cover features an exclusive photograph of a Tudor watch, specially taken for this occasion by photographer Daido Moriyama, who also worked on one of KAMU Kanazawa's permanent exhibitions.

As the fourth store in Japan, Tudor Boutique Kanazawa will join the beautiful streets of Kanazawa. Be sure to take note of the unique connections that can only be found in a city of art.
