"d47 MUSEUM," a museum themed around Japan's 47 prefectures located in Tokyo's Shibuya Hikarie, is hosting a market-style exhibition, "47 Made-to-Order Exhibition: A Semi-Custom Market from the 47 Prefectures," until October 8th, which offers a glimpse into modern Japanese manufacturing.

Shopping isn't just about purchasing "things"; it's also a great pleasure to "experience" the products, learning about their background and actually feeling the passion of the maker. This exhibition, the 22nd special exhibition at d47 MUSEUM, will select one "maker" from each of the 47 prefectures who can create personalized everyday items and clothing, from exhibitors who evoke a sense of local authenticity and share a passion for craftsmanship, including environmental considerations and industrial revitalization.
Amid growing interest in customization and social consumption, this exhibition offers an opportunity to reexamine shopping standards by interacting with the maker to customize items, choosing unique pieces that will last, and experiencing the joy of waiting for the product to arrive.
