Tokyo Midtown will be holding its annual summer event, "MIDTOWN LOVES SUMMER 2015," from July 17th to August 30th.
This year's theme is "Enjoying the coolness of a Japanese summer with all five senses," and various events will be held to allow you to experience the Japanese summer through all five senses. Among these events will be the outdoor cafe "BACARDI MIDPARK CAF," run by the world's number one rum brand, "BACARDI," which will sell a variety of drinks and food.
The lineup includes the "BACARDI Mojito" (R: 500 yen including tax, L: 700 yen including tax), which is made with plenty of mint, and the original "Mega Pineapple Mojito" (2,000 yen including tax), which is served in a fresh fruit container. Special mojitos made with seasonal fruits will also be available weekly. Other food items on offer include "Rotisserie Fried Chicken" (half: ¥1,000 including tax, full: ¥1,800 including tax) and a "Special BBQ Plate" (¥2,400). The "Tokyo Midtown Design & Art Kids Program: Let's Create a Japanese Summer Together" is part of the "Summer Vacation Kids' Fun at Midtown" kids' program, where children can experience design and art in a workshop format. There will also be a "Peta Peta Museum - Biju Tune! World Tour" stamp rally, where participants can collect stamps of unique world masterpieces and art characters, as expressed by Ryo Inoue on the NHK Educational TV program "Biju Tune!", on a passport-shaped card. Additionally, the "In-Museum Wind Chime Project" will feature "Drawing and Manual," led by Seiichi Ishikawa, director of the "Science of Movement" exhibition held at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in Roppongi, Tokyo. Various wind chimes will be on display throughout the museum.
Other events include "ASHIMIZU," where you can enjoy the cool evening breeze by dipping your feet in the stream while admiring the morning glories during the day and the illuminations at night, and "Roppongi Uchimizu Campaign," where the local neighborhood association and shopping district promotion association will work together to sprinkle water in the traditional way.
