Pablo Picasso, one of the greatest masters of the 20th century, produced a vast number of works with his extraordinary creativity. One of the attractions of Picasso's art is the way his expressions change freely with the times. He also demonstrated his abundant talent in printmaking, producing nearly 2,000 prints over his more than 70 years of creative activity, using a wide variety of techniques and materials, including copperplate engraving, lithography, linoleum, and woodblock printing.

The exhibition will shed light on various prints by Picasso from the collection of the National Library of France (Bibliothèque nationale de France, BnF), and will feature approximately 100 pieces, including works by the masters who influenced him. Chapter 1 will introduce works featuring a variety of motifs, including portraits, still lifes, and mythology. In addition to Picasso, Chapter 2 will also feature works by masters who came before him. Visitors can enjoy comparing the differences in expression and discover how Picasso was influenced by the works of his predecessors, including Rembrandt, Goya, Poussin, and Manet.
On September 7th, from 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, a gallery talk titled "Picasso the Printmaker - Dialogue with the Masters" will be held. Murakami Satoshi, who is supervising the exhibition, will provide commentary using a microphone while moving around the venue. No prior registration is required; participation is free with a museum ticket.
Why not enjoy Picasso's adventurous and original world of expression through his prints?
